College and Career Preparatory Academy Information
Kingman Academy High School: A College and Career Readiness Approach
Students of Kingman Academy High School will begin their journey towards their future by developing a college and career readiness plan. This journey begins with the Freshman Success Academy.
9th: Freshmen Success Academy
During your first year of high school all 9th grade students belong to the Freshmen Success Academy. This year's course plan begins exploring college and career options for all students through introductory electives and the Career Explorations course. In this course students will learn about the 5 different Academy focuses of our high school and will explore the types of careers found in each career cluster. Through a series of career interest surveys, assignments, and a professional interview students will be matched with a career academy at the end of the course. At the end of the year rally students will be welcomed into their prospective college and career academy.
10th: Acceptance into one of the 5 Academies/career field exposure.

- Academy of Business and Technology
- Academy of Health Services
- Academy of Public Service
- Academy of STEM and Professional Trades
During their Sophomore year students will dive deep into foundational and career knowledge in their specific Academy. They will take an Introduction course tied to their specific career cluster and will have options to explore other career clusters. Students flexible coursework options during this year will continue focusing on high school requirements, provide foundational career preparatory skills and explore college options for college and career development.
11th: Building On A Foundation
Junior year brings students closer to their college and career goals. Students work towards their individual college and career goals by taking advantage of numerous dual enrollment, WAVE, and other community college opportunities. Students will also take 1-2 key electives that highlight topics or skills in that career cluster.
12th: College and Career Journey Realized
Senior year provides students the opportunity to take theory into practice. Students finish up their high school graduation requirements while striving towards the attainment of their AGEC, AA, and Certificate programs. Some seniors step out into the workforce through focused internship opportunities in their career paths. Students will participate in their career clusters capstone elective.
