Principal's Message

Principal Mrs. Perea

Welcome to Kingman Academy High School!

I am honored to serve as the principal of Kingman Academy High School. KAOL has been my professional home for 28 of my 32 years in education. During that time, I’ve had the privilege of teaching grades 6 through 12 and leading at the high school level, witnessing both KAOL and the greater Kingman community grow and thrive.

Since moving to Kingman in 1993 from Michigan, I’ve come to love the warmth of the Arizona climate—but more importantly, the warmth of the people and the charm of this small-town community. I chose KAOL because I believe deeply in its founding principles: a back-to-basics approach to education, strong partnerships with parents, and a focus on shaping responsible, capable young adults. Watching thousands of students graduate—including my own three children—has been a source of immense pride. Their success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of our incredible KAOL staffulty.

At KAHS, we remain grounded in the core beliefs that established the Academy over 25 years ago. Our vision is to empower students to discover and cultivate their unique talents while pursuing academic excellence and preparing for success in life beyond high school. With a rigorous and diverse curriculum, and partnerships with Mohave Community College and the WAVE Technical Education Program, students can chart individual paths toward their future goals. We are excited to expand these opportunities through personalized career and college pathways for every student.

Outside the classroom, KAHS offers a rich array of extracurricular activities. Our sports programs include football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, cheer, cross country, soccer, swim, golf and track & field. Additionally we have had a local, state, and world recognized Robotics program. Our clubs—such as FIDM, S Club, and National Honor Society—emphasize community service and leadership. Student Council and our Renaissance program play an active role in building a positive, inclusive school culture where every student is recognized and celebrated. We are proud to have been named a Jostens Renaissance Platinum School of Distinction for four consecutive years.

It is a privilege to be part of a school that values tradition, innovation, and student success. I look forward to another amazing year as we continue to grow together.

Welcome to the KAHS family!
