Principal's Message

I am honored to have an opportunity to lead Kingman Academy High School. KAOL has been my home for 27 of my 31 years as an educator. As a teacher in grades 6 through 12 and then as principal at the high school level, I have been fortunate to see KAOL and Kingman grow and flourish.

Kingman has been my home since 1993. A transplant from Michigan, I came to Arizona for the warm climate and quickly fell in love with the people and the small town atmosphere. I found my way to KAOL because I believe in the philosophy of a back to basics educational experience, a partnership with parents in the learning process, and the development of responsible young adults. I have been proud to see thousands of students graduate from KAHS–including my own three children–and I know each will be a success due to the dedication of every staffulty member at KAOL.

At the high school, we continue to follow the same core beliefs that started the Academy over 25 years ago.  Our vision at Kingman Academy High School is to empower students to discover their own unique talents and to use them to achieve academic excellence and success later in life. By offering a rigorous and varied curriculum with the addition of a partnership with Mohave Community College and the WAVE Technical Education Program, students are able to follow their own unique path for personal achievement. We are continuing to build on this by creating individual student pathways for each student through career and college classes.

KAHS offers a wide variety of sports and clubs for all students. Clubs such as FIDM, S Club, and National Honors Society are focused on supporting our local community and those in need. Our active leadership programs through Student Council and Renaissance help to build a positive, nurturing, and inspirational climate and culture where all students are celebrated for their accomplishments in the school and community. KAHS is proud to have earned the title of Jostens Renaissance Platinum School of Distinction three years in a row. We also offer a varied athletic program with team sports in football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, cheer, cross country and track & field.
